Requiems for Recreation is the second effort by Seattle, WA based producer, Dapper Blob. Following an initial release in August of this year, this new album finds itself creating substantially deeper, drone-centric spaces to immerse the listener in. With meditations on anger, frustration, and anxiety balanced by moments of yearning, hope, and passion, Requiems is truly an auditory journey for those seeking a sense of peace.
Dapper Blob is one of nine projects headed by producer Ben Hopkins, and a part of his umbrella company, City of Animals. Drawing inspiration from video game soundscapes, artists such as Brian Eno and Phillip Glass, and an early childhood interest in artists such as Enya, Dapper Blob toes the line of minimalist electronic and new age.
